MEET Stryker
Meet Stryker, the beloved mascot of Empire Strykers, who transcends the conventional role of a team mascot. Beyond his spirited presence at games in Toyota Arena, Stryker is an integral part of the team's outreach efforts, engaging with city partners, sponsors, youth soccer camps, and various community events. His magnetic energy captivates children while his delightful sense of humor and dance moves endear him to adults.
Stryker's journey began unexpectedly when, during a training session in the hills above Rancho Cucamonga in the summer of 2015, the team encountered a wildcat. Astonishingly, the cat displayed soccer skills, volleying the ball back to the players with surprising finesse. Charmed by this encounter, the players welcomed the wildcat into their fold, adopting him as Stryker and making him an emblematic part of their team.
Not just a mascot, Stryker gives back to the community through numerous appearances, forging connections, and spreading joy among fans. His endearing nature and enthusiastic presence have made him a favorite both within the Toyota Arena and throughout the community. Stryker's remarkable story embodies the spirit of unity and camaraderie, enriching the Empire Strykers with his unique charm and unwavering dedication.
Additionally, Stryker was the original mascot for the team when it was known as the Ontario Fury. Despite the rebranding under new ownership, the decision was made to retain the mascot's name and carry on the tradition with the new team identity and brand.
